My Mission
I'm David, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. I am not the type of therapist that sits there passively listening. My approach is active, engaging, and collaborative. I strive to create an environment where you can explore the depths of your thoughts and feelings without shame or judgment and to empower you to integrate change into your life with confidence and compassion. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and awareness, and I'm committed to working with you to achieve your goals and improve your overall well-being.
My Vision
Empathy
Relational wounds require relational healing. I am committed to a space of compassion, non-judgment, and allowing myself to be affected and impacted by your felt life experiences.
Mutual Respect
Recognizing that each person has a unique story and must work at their own pace; therefore, having mutual respect for the therapy process and the boundaries surrounding it.
Exploration
Answers do not always come in a linear fashion, but rather, emerge over time. I have the courage to ask the hard questions and the wisdom to know when is the right time. Together we can courageously seek to understand your desires, personality profile, inner conflicts, and unspoken truths.
Connection
If you are expecting an emotionless analyst, you have the wrong therapist. I believe that connection is what revives us. My job isn’t just to listen, it’s to be engaged, to participate, and to bring understanding to the totality of who you are and the life you live.

About Me
My therapeutic process is both integrative and relational, aiming to assist you in cultivating awareness and understanding of past experiences that inform today’s behaviors and frustrations. We will look at thoughts, feelings, and motivations from within, your relationship patterns and their origin, and the challenges you face in modern life. Combining insight and behavioral change, my goal is to help you become more resilient and feel better in your daily relationship with yourself and others while bringing about noticeable change and a renewed sense of authenticity to your life.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#142549), and I hold an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University with a specialization in spiritual and depth psychology. I continued my training in depth psychology at Counseling West in Sherman Oaks. I am currently seeing clients in private practice in-person in West Hollywood and virtually throughout California. Previous to my career in psychotherapy, I spent 17 years in the health and wellness world developing useful knowledge in healing, trauma, relational challenges, and personal growth. I am originally from Minnesota and have spent as much time as possible immersing myself in the perspective-changing experience of cultures outside of the United States.
